The Outer Islands (Alphonse, Cosmoledo, Astove) are the holy grail of GT fly fishing. Strict C&R rules protect the stocks.

No significant freshwater bodies.
Saltwater
115 islands with endless flats, reefs and drop-offs. GT fly fishing at world-class level!
Equipment
Outer Island Lodges provide equipment. Own 12wt fly rod for GT recommended.
Guides
Outer Island Lodge: 800-1,500 USD/day (all-inclusive). Mahe charter: 400-800 USD/day.
Getting there
Flight to Mahe. Small aircraft or boats to the Outer Islands. Long transfers!
Safety
Strong currents around the atolls. Sun protection vital. Sharks on the flats are normal.
