Freshwater
North Island: Tongariro River, Lake Taupo, Whanganui River and others. Main target fish: rainbow trout and brown trout.
Saltwater
North Island coast: fingerfish, snapper. South Island coast: trumpeter, blue cod, grouper.
Equipment
Complete rods: 50-150 NZ$ (approx. 35-100 CHF / 20-60 Euro). Spinning lures: approx. 20-40 NZ$. Professional equipment not required.
