ATTENTION: Due to the conflict, travel in many parts of the country is currently not possible or dangerous!

Ukraine has some of the most productive freshwater waters in Europe. The Danube estuary (Kilija arm) is a hotspot for catfish and carp.

Dnjepr with huge reservoirs, Danube estuary, Carpathian streams. Enormous potential!
Saltwater
Black Sea coast (Odessa). Currently heavily restricted due to conflict.
Equipment
Fishing shops in larger cities (Kyiv, Lviv). Basic equipment available cheaply.
Guides
Dnjepr guide: 50-100 EUR/day. Carpathian trout: 40-80 EUR/day. Very cheap!
Getting there
Flights to Kyiv or Lviv (if available). Rental car or train. Roads partly poor.
Safety
IMPORTANT: Active conflict! Many regions not accessible. Only safe western Ukraine (Carpathians, Lviv region). Observe travel warnings! Minefields near the front!
