The Soca is one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe — turquoise, crystal-clear water! Many stretches are Fly-Only. Marble trout up to 120 cm and 25 kg possible!

Freshwater

Alpine and karst rivers of breathtaking beauty. The Soca is the star — turquoise water!

Saltwater

Only 47 km of Adriatic coast (Piran). Saltwater fishing plays no major role.

Equipment

Fly rod 4-6wt for trout, 7-8wt for huchen. Wading gear recommended. Available locally.

Guides

Soca guides: 200-350 EUR/day. Fly fishing courses available.

Getting there

Flight to Ljubljana. Rental car to the Soca Valley (1.5 hours). Good road infrastructure.

Safety

Safe country. Pay attention to mountain weather. Rivers can rise quickly after rain. Neoprene waders!
