Slovakia is a Huchen hotspot! The Danube between Bratislava and Komarno as well as the Vah and Hron hold good stocks of the 'Danube salmon'.
Freshwater
Danube, Vah, Hron and many reservoirs. High Tatra mountain streams with crystal clear water.
Saltwater
No access to the sea (landlocked country).
Equipment
Fishing shops in Bratislava and larger cities. Cheap prices.
Guides
Huchen guide: 150-250 EUR/day. Trout guide: 80-150 EUR/day.
Getting there
Flight to Bratislava (or Vienna, only 60 km!). Rental car recommended.
